The repertoire of works based on the laments of King David for his son Absalom and his friend Jonathan began in the ninth century and continues to this day. This repertoire stretched across the temporal, geographical and religious frontiers of Europe during the 15th, 16th and early 17th centuries. In their debut at the Torroella de Montgrí Festival, the Belgian ensemble Graindelavoix presents a selection of these works of English, Franco-Flemish and Spanish polyphony.
